Opinião/Review:

Ladies put your hands in the air, and take off your bras for the ... SINNERS!!!

"Backstage Pass" is the first of a series of five books, that tell us the stories of all the five members of this famous rock band, Sinners.

*Putting on my headphones playing "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC so I get in the mood to write this review*

In the first book, the main character is Brian Sinclair aKa Master Sinclair... The God of the Guitar Solos!!!
Brian is Sexy as hell;
The son of a famous musician, whom doesn't respect his sons talent;
The genious behind the band solos;
And a Romantic.. who gets dumped all the time because groupies can't deal with his intensity!

It was after one of this "dumping" that Brian get to know College Professor Myrna Evans, who has been using Sinners material on her classes, because of the sensuality and sexuality breathed in the music of this hot talented guys.

Myrna is Sexy, Mature and knows how to keep guys in place, which she totally did with Sinners, keeping the guys on theis places, even though they were all droowling over her...

Being in a table surrounded by five of the most talented and handsome men in the planet ain't easy, but she pull it through, and even end the night sharing her hotel bed with her crush, Brian, who was drunk as hell (his particular way of dealing with being dumped!).

The atraction between these two is obvious and I could almost feel it!
But Brian wants something more this time, and he thinks Myrna might be the One for him.

Even though Myrna is in heaven when she's with Brian, she can't afford to get to close... She's had a hard time with her obsessed ex-husband, Jeremy, who treated like she was a whore, humiliating her and giving her a low self-esteem. She  loves Brian but she's not right for him: She hates the groupies;
She's a College Professor;
And she likes to Settle... three things Brian will not give up... or so she thinks!

To maintain her job, she decided to embrace a new project, where she'll be travelling with Sinner for three months, making her research on the groupies behavious towards the band members.

Brian and Myrna get to know each other, despite her reluctance, and something more than sex starts to emerge, will they handle it right? They're damaged allright, but will love win over suffering?

I'm stunned by the book!

The writing is amazing: raw and enthusiastic!
The characters are passionate, and I cannot wait to find more about Trey and Jace.

I mus say it was hard for me to concentrate during their first concert scene. I kept listening to my fav Metallica songs playing in my head, and when Brian's solo started... Mr. Kirk Hammett was playing!! OMG! I was totally freaking out!!

The sex scenes are explicit and very, very open minded... so hot I almost burst into flames!

Brian is sweet and I feel bad for him, for all his hurting, but I trust Myrna is strong enough to heal him. And Brian will protect her for her insecurities and her filthy ex-husband!

I have to make a small note on Trey and Jace, because, despite loving the whole band, they're the two who captivated my full attention:

Trey is Brian's best friend since ever, and in love with him since the same amout of time, but knowing is not what Brian wants and needs, he's willing to give Myrna the chance to become the saviour of his roomate, putting aside all his true feelings;

And Jace... well, Jace is a mystery. I know his into kinky stuff but he doesn't look like it. He's sweet, shy and the little boy of the band, the least suspicious, and yet, I'll bet he has a secret agenda that will give his happy ending a hard journey, which I'm excited to read about it.

Using an expression of Sed, the vocals of the band, Sinner "got me by the balls".. I'm bared to this five stunning men and their band and I cannot wait to find more about them.
Olivia Cunning has my respect as a gifted author, who knows what strings to pull to make the action role.
If "Backstage Pass" was an amazing reading, I can only imagine what will the rest of the books be!

"The Iron King" by Julie Kagawa [REVIEW / OPINIÃO]

Autor/ Author: Julie Kagawa
Edição/ Print: 2010
Editor: Mira Ink
ISBN: 9781426847806

Sinopse/Synopsis:

My name is Meghan Chase. In less than twenty-four hours I'll be sixteen. Countless stories, songs and poems have been written about this wonderful age, when a girl finds true love and the stars shine for her and the handsome prince carries her off into the sunset. I don't think it will be that way for me. Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school...or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical fairy king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face...and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Opinião/ Review:

"The Iron King" is the first of four books of The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa.

Meghan Chase is the main character, and an apparently normal sixteen-year-old. Coming from a poor family, living in a farm, she's considered an outcast among her highschool mates, and her only friend is Robbie, a special boy she knows since ever and know all about her, but she can't tell the same about him.

Meghan doesn't understand why people seem to forget about her most of the times, except for Robbie and her little brother, Ethan.

On the day of Meghan's sixteen birthday Ethan is abducted, and it becomes the girls mission to find out the abducter and to rescue her brother.

After this day, Meghan's life will never be the same, because she finds out she's more than an ordinary human.,.. she's half human, half fey... she's the daugter of the Summer Court King!

Now she understands why Robbie was always a presence in her life, he's real name is Puck and he's Oberon's (Summer Court King) best lackey, and Meghan's bodyguard who sworn to protect her and keep her way of the Nevernever land for her whole life.

With the help of Puck and a mysterious cat, Meghan begins her journey to rescue little Ethan.

In the way, she meets:

Her father's wife, who hates Meghan;
The queen of the Winter Court, Mab and her handsome and dangerous son, Ash.

Meghan asks for Ash's help, making a contract with him: If he helps her finding the Iron King who abducted her brother, she'll give herself in to the Winter Court.

Every single court seems to want Meghan...

The Summer/Seelie Court where Meghan's father rein;
The Winter/Unseelie Court where Ash lives;
And this hidden court who manages the iron, the Iron Court, where its king wants Meghan to become his wife and rule with him the Fey world.

Is a lot to take in for a sixteen-year-old, but it's now Meghan's life and she must deal with it.

Besides all of this, the Summer Court princess is falling in love... falling in love with her enemy, and hurting her oldest friend, who's been loving her since ever... Wh0 will she choose?

I must say I didn't know what to expect about this book...
The cover is beautiful, but we should never judge a book by its cover, and I was kind of disappointed in the first pages.

The first chapters, before Meghan enters the Seelie Court were boring and monotonous.
Meghan was insecure and not a bright mind, refusing to see the signals ahead her, and continuing to not listen to the one who loved her... which annoyed me a lot!

After they enter the Nevernever land things got different, in a very enthusiastic and funny way.

Puck surprised me, and I have to admitt I have a crush on him!
After years protecting his princess he finally gets the chance to be himself around her. He's so funny and brave, and so in love with her, but she doesn't see it, or doesn't want to, especially when a certain winter prince comes along, joining her in this journey, and in her heart... ohhh it's so amusing to see Puck's reaction to this... I laughed so much during a certain dialogue, where the Summer Court guardian expressed his feelings and jealously in an undirect way.. hilarious!

Puck is the funny one, and Ash the intense one.. cliché, right?

Ash is the typhical dark, tormentuous prince. Mysterious, sexy as hell, this Unseelie prince can't get his eyes of the half-breed princess that belongs to his rival court.

I'm such a fan of love triangules!!!!

It was refreshing to watch Meghan's evolution during the book... she started as a childish girl, and ended up as a true princess: honored and brave.

I must congratulate Julie Kagawa for her excellent work: her writing is amazing and addictive! The Nevernever land is a "piece of heaven"... a slice of a very bright imagination, that I would love for it to be real.

Julie Kagawa surprised me with her fey world, stretching the boundaries of mytholgy by innovating it.. genious!
I can't wait for "The Iron Daughter", to check how Meghan's life will be in the Unseelie Court.
"The Iron King" impressed me hard, and I became a fan of the Nevernever land that Kagawa created.

Review

What did I think?!?!?!?!

Oh you A Hole Jett Mayfield!!! I'm incredibly mad, I didn't expect THAT. I knew secrets were coming but not THAT!!!
This guy had “trouble” written since the start, but I wasn't expecting THAT, come on!!!
I'm totally having a MELTDOWN MOMENT!!!!  I have a few of those a week, maybe that's why I'm crazy, who knows (rolling my eyes)

I just need to breathe a little!
Ok first of ( I need to start here or I won't write anything besides THAT ), for her first book J.C. ROCKED IT. I mean absolutely amazing!
Has you can see I wasn't expecting THAT ( Ok I said it again sorry), I was expecting guy meets girl, girl has a commitment phobia, guy falls, guy fights for girl, something happens, they fight and BUM cliffhanger, but not TTTTHHHHAAAATTTTT!!!! Just read it girls, you will understand my affliction :P

Jett Mayfield I loved you from the start, I don't usually go for over confident guys, sexy alpha males are adorable ( I don't believe I said adorable but ok I'm having a MELTDOWN people so bear with me ), but to that extreme they are just annoying. Not you Jett, oh I LOVED YOU.

Brooke was my kind of girl, I love to see them fight the urge to jump their bones :D She fought it, but oh girl you lost badly. WHO THE HELL WOULDN'T?!?!?!?!
The story was plausible, it had the right timings and the sex :O I'm going to keep drooling for  weeks.
I was suspicious the entire time, I knew something was there for him and her. They both had secrets.
We got the story behind what was wrong with her, her past demons. But him nothing, I mean ok we got a glimpse but besides that just an all lot of questions.

( I'm breathing for a few minutes so I won't say THAT again)

I LOVED IT!!!!

The twist was amazing, I just want to know what the hell happened. You know her now Jett so don't you think when Brooke tells you no more lies, you should say something?!?! ( Alpha males are so dumb sometimes, so why do I keep loving them?! I think I need therapy, just saying )

Ok now let me just say I loved both characters, in the end they showed me not only the bad side but both of them showed how fun they can be.
I loved the scene where he just makes fun of her, he looked so cute :D I just wanted to kiss and steal him from Brooke :D ( I believe this one is fictional boyfriend number ah thinking here ah 26 I think, not sure! )
The girl can find another guy, don't you think? I want Jett :D
Even if I have to kick his ass in the end, I want one for me :)

Amazing book girls ;)

You won't waste your time reading it, COMPLETELY WORTH IT :D

P.S. VERY IMPORTANT

Please don't kill me for having to add another book to your TBR list, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :)

See you next week ;)
