Three amazing characters and three powerful stories.

I loved every single second of this book! We are presented with a variety of scenarios full of lust, love and craziness.

Sophia was by far one of the most amazing female characters I ever read. A true woman, powerful, resilient, beautiful, so smart and fearful even with the demons present in her life. I just loved her. And she was so funny, it was a breath of fresh air seeing such a disposed woman, even with the power and the money she wasn't smug or snob. She’s so well balanced, and my kind of women ( huge grin) she made Alistair sweat, I laughed so hard with her will power. I wouldn't last a minute next to that man, but OK your call not mine ( I would jump him the first chance I got).

Ethan oh Ethan what happened to you?! I guess love and possessiveness broke you even more than you already were. I loved his introduction, another alpha male that swept me off my feet, I can honestly say I was rooting for him even with the introduction of Alistair in the beginning ( which I LOVED, yummy yummy yummy). He had everything to be perfect.

Beauty, wits, persistence a bit of craziness, all that I love in an alpha male he has shown me since the start. His past just complemented an already perfect character. That was :O not expecting that at all.

Alistair ( fanning myself and I just wrote his name ), this guy is mystery and darkness personified. And I WANT YOU SO MUCH!!! The astonishing alpha male, with all the jealously, possessiveness and control one brings, and a spice of roughness and pain that no one can say no to.

Oh God the guy was tortured by Sophia, I felt sorry for him, I was constantly “telling” him to come to me if she didn't want him. Oh I would take so good care of you ( swooning ).

OK now leaving the serious reviewer behind ( raising an eyebrow, was I serious back there? Guess not :D )

Trust was everything and more of what I was expecting.

I laughed so much, Alistair and Sophia are so cute together, and their texts were hilarious :D who knew a guy like that would pout? LOVED IT! I spent two days laughing, having my heart squeezed, shouting with Ethan ( after swooning for him) and telling Sophia how dumb she was ( grin , even do she was right OMG you tortured the guy ( Alistair ) I was scowling at her. Poor cute Alistair, having to play with himself ( now I’m pouting ). I would beg for you Alistair, just give me a chance and I will BEG!!!!

And Ethan Oh God I was furious with you, I wanted to kick you, smack you, chop you into pieces and thrown you to the sharks. That was just WRONG. And he's getting full on PHYCOTIC. So why I’m I so happy with that? I’m definitely crazy :D

I will just say these girls:

The book was absolutely AMAZING, the plot was rich, intense, mind-blowing ( just like Mr. Alistair Connor ;) I didn't see her faint with you Ethan ( sticking out my tongue ) sorry ) and so much fun.

Cristiane Serruya created a book with all the elements I love: Two crazy possessive alpha males, a strong female character, drama, intensity and most importantly ( huge grin ), the most erotic moments and sexual moments without going overboard.

I was fanning, swooning, giggling, drooling, shaking and having chills all at the same time. These guys know what they’re doing, and Alistair ( I won’t shut up about him anytime soon) your kinkiness is delicious. I would faint just so you would give me mouth to mouth resuscitation :D

One of the best unknown authors I ever read! You won't regret it, and you will beg for more!

Opinião:

"Imortal" é o primeiro de uma saga YA paranormal da autora Gillian Shields.

Como protagonistas temos a jovem ruiva e recém-chegada a Wyldcliffe, um colégio autoritário e misterioso só para raparigas, Evie Johnson; e o sedutor rapaz de olhos azuis, Sebastian James.

Evie e Sebastian conhecem-se no dia em que a jovem chega ao colégio interno, e de imediato se sentem atraídos um pelo outro, mas Sebastian não parece deste mundo contemporâneo, no seu garanhão preto e modos antiquados.

Quando voltam a encontrar-se, a química é palpável, e a partir desse momento, o amor floresce, assim como os seus encontros nocturnos.

Embora a sua vida amorosa esteja encaminhada, a sua vida no colégio é um inferno.

Evie só encontrou lugar em Wyldliffe, devido à morte de Laura, a melhor amiga de Celeste, a rapariga mais popular do colégio, e que está disposta a fazer a vida negra a Evie.

As únicas amigas da jovem ruiva são Sarah, uma descendente de ciganos, vinda de uma família rica, e Helen, outra bolseira como Evie, cujas atitudes estranhas e sem explicação dão-lhe a reputação de doida.

Wyldcliffe esconde muitos mistérios, inclusivé a verdadeira natureza da Mestre Suprema e o seu propósito em manter o colégio aberto, assim como também a sua ligação a Sebastian.

"Imortal" é narrado por Evie, mas as suas passagens são intercaladas com o diário de Lady Agnes, iniciado em 1882.

Lady Agnes tem mais em comum com Evie, do que a doutrina da Via Mística (querem saber o que isto é, leiam o livro :P). Ambas partilham a mesma árvore genealógica, e por isso, Agnes tenta comunicar com Evie do mundo dos mortos, alertando-a para se afastar de Sebastian, aquele que levou à morte prematura da Lady Templeton.

Sebastian é uma personagem complexa. Desde o início que sabemos que esconde algo, e que, possivelmente, será mesmo de um tempo anterior ao de Evie, mas o que não esperamos é o seu papel relevante em toda a trama.

Sebastian não é um simples imortal, e a sua vida depende da morte de Evie. Irá a história repetir-se? Irá Sebastian brincar com Evie como o fez com Agnes? Ou serão os seus sentimentos reais? Conseguirá Sebastian resistir ao seu impulso e proteger Evie?

Ao contrário de Agnes, que embora bastante ajuizada, mostra-se um pouco "verde" no que é a vida, Evie é madura, e embora corra os seus riscos, fá-lo por um bem maior.

Evie é uma personagem forte, bem construída e com uma faceta mágica excepcional.

Helen e Sarah, embora personagens secundárias, são também de extrema importância para a acção. Os seus verdadeiros intentos são revelados apenas no final, e aliadas a Evie, tornam-se irmãs na magia e no coração.

"Imortal" surpreendeu-me pela positiva. A estória está bem elaborada, e é deveras interessante, com os seus elementos fantasmagóricos e mágicos.

Admito que, em certas alturas da acção, foi-me quase impossível de não me esconder debaixo dos lençóis, com medo que Agnes me aparecesse à frente (ridículo, eu sei, mas inevitável!), o que conferiu uma certa dose de realismo à estória, e me manteve agarrada à mesma.

Como é de esperar de uma obra para Jovens-Adultos, "Imortal" é dotado de uma linguagem acessível e cenas românticas em abundância, assim como atitudes perigosas e arriscadas por parte dos nosso heróis.

 

A intercalação entre narradores e tempos é também uma vantagem, proporcionando expectativa à volta da estória contemporânea, enquanto Agnes nos revela o lado obscuro do rapaz dos olhos azuis obsessivos.

Com capítulos curtos, a acção fluí rapidamente, dando-nos tempo para recuperarmos o fôlego, tornando a leitura rápida e muito fácil.

Um amor condenado à destruição, uma tragédia ao estilo de Shakespeare, que conquistará leitores facilmente.
